Cultural Ambassadors 2024

A final exhibition of works created from the Cultural Ambassadors group of 2024!
This FREE ten-week course is available to adults 18+ The only criteria for attending are that you should NOT have a degree in any subject.
The course focuses primarily on exploring materials, techniques and processes and will suit beginners or returners, experience not really necessary.
It is not a formal course to study drawing or painting. It’s fun, a place to meet new friends in a relaxed environment.
This course is funded by the University of the Creative Arts.
Ron Woodward Competition Display

Prize Presentation : 18:00
The theme for this first Art competition centres on the environment and why we must preserve the beauty and life on Earth, and combat the threat to the eco-system and our very existence on our amazing planet.
The name of the winning artist will be added to the Ron Woodward Memorial Trophy and remain on display at Beach Creative.
Selected entries will be exhibited in the gallery space at Beach Creative in Herne Bay.
Wall Exhibitions

Exhibiting alongside the Ron Woodward Memorial Art Competition display with five individual wall exhibits :
Sally Childs, on Wall 1
Sally Childs forages sea glass from the Kent Coast from which she carefully creates delicate and charming mixed-media artworks which will warm your heart, often with themes of humour.
Spencer Alden, on Wall 2
Spencer is a local photographer who captures landscape and seascapes, wildlife, portraits and more.
Debs Smith, on Wall 3
Debs is a Mixed Media artist, Art Journaler and Workshop Teacher. She will be exhibiting a variety of paintings and mixed-media artworks.
Emily Kenshole will be exhibiting 'Sea life and Mushrooms' on Wall 6.
Emily has a passion for environmental activism and climate issues around the world. She will be showing a selection of acrylic paintings consisting of strange creatures in the deep sea, as well as mushroom art inspired by the strange beauty of nature.
Stephen Postgate, on Wall 7
Stephen will be showing a varied collection of canvas paintings in professional acrylic. Mostly inspired by his ten years in Cyprus working as a drama, life drawing tutor and resident artist at The Cornaro Institute in Larnaka and Lempa school near Paphos.

An Open Show

Our first Open Show of the year will be centred around the theme of landscape.
We welcome submissions that explore the theme through all mediums, techniques and styles. Local or faraway, real or imagined, photo realistic or abstract!
Embrace your creativity and use this opportunity to show your work alongside other artists on the gallery walls.
Hanging Fee
● Large Artwork (sized A3, 29.7 cm x 42 cm / 11.7 in x 16.5in and larger) £10.00 per piece
● Small Artwork (sized A10, 2.6 cm x 3.7 cm / 1 in x 1.5 in and larger) £5.00 per piece
*Artwork should not exceed 1 metre in any dimension
*Up to 3 items of work per artist
*Please make sure your work title is included on the back with your name and details and is fitted with mirror plates ready to hang (half-way down side) .

Rebecca collaborated with the residents
of Herne Bay to bring different generations together through creative explorations.
In this exhibition you can see the
outcomes this collaboration.
Stitched, Stabbed and Woven

Come and enjoy the work of five artists with a passion for textiles who are showcasing their varied approaches to this wonderful medium.
An abundance of colour and texture can be seen through the disciplines of printing, stitching, mixed media, felting and weaving to create contemporary constructed textile art.
A feast for the eyes. The artists exhibiting are all members of South East Artists: Patricia Barry, Chris Birbeck, Gillian Bull, Kath Love, and Steve Wheeler.

Unquiet Landscape

Two contrasting rooms.
One filled with the cacophony of wildlife imagery and sound captured at Knepp Wilding Project in Sussex with some recent
Blean Woods additions.
The other, homages to two giants of early modernism, Claude Monet and Chiam Soutine. Distorted, painterly photographs taken at the locations where they painted their most extraordinary masterpieces.
