My life as a painter started in 1990, whilst travelling around India, I took a sketch pad, pencil and a set of
watercolour paints. From my early twenties, my life had been in advertising for newspapers and national magazines, as well as being a Sales Executive in different industries for over a decade. Once I had started painting, there was no stopping me, I have been completely obsessed with paint and drawing, ever since.
Seven years of my life has been spent in formal art education, in 1995 I started to exhibit in Whitstable. Since then, usually every two years, I have held solo shows in a lot of places in Kent, as well as joint exhibitions in London and France. Thirty-one years ago, when deciding to be an artist, I considered it to be a vocation. In 2007 after finishing uni (Crhistchurch University 2001-2004) , I really wanted to teach so I designed a drawing course, then a painting and colour course. The aim is for people to gain a portfolio of work of drawing and oil painting. Of which I am happy to complete a lifetime of discovery, surrounded by colour and an exploration of one's mind. I was taught by artists, who were taught by artists. It has been a great privilege and a tradition that I will continue. So far six people I have taught have gained entry to formal art education and they have done what they have always wanted to do.
Life is about doing what you want to do within reason.
To me it is painting and drawing.
That is priceless.

truly wonderful celebration of art, music, poetry
