22 March - 28 March
On show in the Marcell gallery this week will feature a selection of works by a Margate Art group taking their first steps in exploring creativity.
With a shared passion for artistic expression, these artists have been experimenting and developing their skills under the guidance of artist Brian Davenport at the King Street Gallery in Margate.
He has curated the show to offer insights into the creative processes of his students, their struggles and triumphs but most importantly, to encourage them to share their work and engage with their audience.

My latest body of work is the result of spending a year living in another country.
I discovered on my return, that the experience of being alone in an unknown place made me see the remote and isolated structures in my local coastal landscape differently.
Previously ‘unseen’ and unexplored, these structures now resonate with a sense of resilience for me; a reminder of the simple pleasure of belonging.
It’s good to be home.
